Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents named her Winona for her home town. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's father came from a Jewish family Ryder considers herself Jewish. The actress is the younger sister of Uria who is half-sister to Jubal & Sunyata. Ryder along with her whole family moved to Mendocino, California at the age of seven. Ryder was just seven. There they didn't have electricity. Ryder was a voracious reading book because there was no television. Ryder was 12 when she was enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. When she was 15years old, Ryder was offered her first part on screen, in Lucas. Ryder endured bullying while in highschool. Her acting career, she hoped to help, could have helped her. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. The actress continued to chase her goals. Beetlejuice, a 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first major breakthrough. Ryder was later cast in success in roles. In 1993, he was nominated two times for Academy Awards.
